Hi Everyone! My name is Monzie and I'm a big love dog!
Animal Allies of Texas rescued me and I'm living in a foster home with two teenage girls and a female Boston Terrier. I like running around in the backyard. I am 100% house-trained and I love sleeping on my dog bed. I don't chew on anything I'm not supposed to. I have some toys, and I'm learning how to play with them.
I'm a smart boy, but I'm not an alpha dog. My foster parents are good at helping me overcome some fear issues... sometimes I flinch at sudden movements or loud noises. My foster Mom was a little worried about hosting a Pitbull, but now we're best friends and I follow her everywhere. I am extremely gentle and loving. There's nothing I like better than hugs and being close to people. I love giving kisses and putting my head in your lap. I don't display any food aggression, people aggression or dog aggression. I haven't been around cats so I don't know ho I'd act around them. My foster family says I am very quiet and I never bark. I know how to shake hands and I respond well to treats and positive reinforcement.
I do well in the car. I have a crate, but my foster family trusts me when they leave for short periods so they let me stay out. Mostly I like to lounge around on my bed or my blankie. If you let dogs on the couch I am totally on board, although my foster family is teaching me not to get on the people furniture. I do well on the leash and enjoy walking around the neighborhood or at the park.
My foster family says my fur is super-soft and I hardly shed. They also say I have a big head and big feet. I guess they match the size of my heart! They think I would be an incredible companion dog for the right person or family. I really am a big, goofy, lazy lapdog who just needs lots of love.
The only thing I need to complete my perfect life is a forever home. If you would like to meet me please contact AAT (Animal Allies of Texas). I'd sure love to meet you!
And if you would like to volunteer to same more lives and foster cats or dogs, please go to the Animal Allies of Texas website and inquire. It is wasn't for the kind lady who sprung me from the shelter, I would not be here to tell my story. AAT will educate you on what it takes to be a foster parent.
